I have a questions about ambulation and w/c FIM scoring. If a patient can amb or propel a w/c 150+ feet but need directional cues to locate their room, do you score it as a "5" due to verbal cueing and burden of care? Or do you score it a a "6 or 7" because it is the act of walking or propelling the w/c and locating their room is more cognitive/memory? IP: Logged |

I think it should be rated @ 6 b/c the testing is about the locomotion not about the cognition (as you rightly said before) or topographic memory. IP: Logged |
