In the Introduction to the PCRS on this site it states that awareness can be examined separately using the four domains of the PCRS: activities of daily living, behavioural and emotional function, cognitive abilities and physical function. I can not seem to find the specific questions that comprise these domains in the literature? Do you know where I could find these? Thanks. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Lynn, Thanks for your question, and actually it points out that our introductory material is (inadvertently) a bit misleading. There aren't formally established content areas on the scale (for example, as would be derived by factor analysis). The point is just that items on the PCRS were written to cover several areas that may reveal impaired awareness -- cognitive abilities, behavioral and emotional control, and performance of ADL. The items may be grouped on the basis of their face content according to the interest of each clinician/ researcher. Also, our reference to "physical function" in the introduction is an outright error since there are not items on the PCRS that ask directly about physical abilities such as coordination or gait. (Incidentally, such items may be found on the Awareness Questionnaire of Sherer et al.).
