Hi,

I would like to use MDS on my SWLS data but the other two scales I want to compare it to are on 0-100 (0 = poor, 100 = best quality of life). How do I transform my SWLS data to a 0-100 scale?

Any ideas will be appreciated!

Hanne,

I would suggest converting your raw data for all scales to a common metric, like standardized scores, z scores or T scores (consult any stats book for the formulas). But if your desire is to simply rescale the SWLS scores to a 0 to 100 basis, then the formula would be:

new score=(original score-5)*3.3333

I hope I have correctly understood your question.

Hi,

Thanks for the formula. You understood my question fine. I was just as much wondering whether I should look at norm data for conversion if that is possible.

Thanks!
