If a subject could not return to the job that they had prior to their injury (say it was too detail oriented, too many hours, or high stress) but could return to competitive employment (with less responsibilities), how would you rate this on DRS Employability?

What if an individual could return to their original competitive position, but now worked a reduced schedule (less hours per week)?

In terms of the first question - return to competitive employment but not to pre-injury job - the individual can not be rated a "0" since they are restricted in their employability. With the whole point scale, the individual should be rated a "1". With the 0.5 point scale, depending on the number of restrictions, ie. less time, less responsibility, the individual could be rated a "0.5" or a "1".

For your second question, the same logic applies. Return to same competitive job but with less hours would rate the person a "1" with the whole point scale and "0.5" with the 0.5 point scale.

Are you basing your interpretation of NOT RESTRICTED on previous work history?
The definition of that rating reads "can compete in the open market for a relatively wide range of jobs commensurate with existing skills". The definition of SELECTED JOBS, COMPETETIVE reads "can compete for a relatively narrow range of jobs because of physical and other limitations"

The ability we are measuring is "can plan and carry out tasks at least at the level of an office clerk or in simple routine repetitive industrial situations". Maybe someone can't be a stock broker, but still could be employed as a real estate agent or merchant. Would that still be SELECTED JOBS?

How would you have rated these hypothetical individuals if you did not know their prior history?
